I met Caitlin from Chasing Cait Style Coach at my first event ever as a blogger. Dressing Up was about 2 months old and I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing! Cait has been one of the people that has answered a million questions for me as I have developed the blog, and now we chat all the time - mostly about clothes you understand! We both have a passion for empowering women to feel confident and kick butt in their everyday lives. So we thought it was high time we worked together!
So here is a fun new little blog series, I am collecting pieces from readers that they are having trouble styling and giving it a whirl myself!
These shorts are from Forever 21 and came from a wardrobe edit I did with a client. "What do I wear with these? Here, you take them!" And take them I did.
I was scrolling through Instagram recently I saw Caitlin Taylor from Chasing Cait Style Coach wearing the I AM by Andrea Moore 'Fruit Salad top' (Sizes 8-16, $139.99 from Farmers or Andrea Moore stores nationwide). Well in my style stalker way, I ran out and bought it - yup, bloggers do that too. It's so cute! I think people often shy away from such a bright print, because what DO you wear it with (uhhm, everything!) I've styled it three ways to give you some ideas.
Crop tops have only come on to my fashion radar as my body confidence has grown - really since I started Dressing Up. But you know what? I kinda love them! I know when you think 'Crop Top' it can bring up visions of belly bearing teens in ripped denim shorts, but I'm choosing to style mine in a slightly more sophisticated way.
I'm sick of buying 'basics', t-shirts do not excite me! This season i am working on inserting the 'Wow' factor into my wardrobe, and this one size fits all 'Peacock Cape' printed Kaftan by K&K, $139.90, perfectly fits the bill! I love the colours (because as you know, I am obsessed with green) and I love that it is so multipurpose.
Putting together 30 outfits from 30 items for 30 days sounded really daunting, but I thought 'How hard can it be?' We all manage to put together an outfit of some sort each day, the challenge would be making sure each one was different.
Some days were easier than others, sometimes when you have small children in the house, you just want to wear track pants! And sometimes I got spewed on, and ended up doing exactly that :)
