Returning things is seldom easy, most people don't like confrontation, and you are always just a little afraid the shop assistant is going to say no – even if you’re well within your rights. I am a returning things pro (yes, that’s a thing!) It is one of my special skills in life. Read my tips below and you'll soon be a pro too.
Hooray! It's time for another episode of Two Girls...with my wonderful styling friend Caitlin Taylor from Chasing Cait Style Coach. This series is all about showing you two ways to style one amazing piece. You get to see these pieces on two very different bodies to give you more of an idea of how it will look on you!
We all know I love stripes, and the versatility of a t-shirt dress in Summer just can't be beat. The Stripe Tassel Dress from Madly Sweetly ($179 sizes 8-16) is easy to wear, easy to style and super comfy.
I am aware the completion of this room has been a LONG time coming, but my bedroom makeover is almost complete!
I am just waiting for the squab for the window seat to be covered (in navy velvet ohhhhh!) and the wallpaper to arrive for the band we are creating around the top of the room. That sounds super old fashioned I know, but trust me it’s going to be cool. I have my reservations, but fun design is all about taking risks! I’ll let you know how it goes…
I love working with Madly Sweetly. Their clothes are relaxed and laid back but always have a little design quirk or pretty print to make them a wardrobe favourite. Their winter pieces were on heavy rotation in my wardrobe – check out my favourite dress from last season here. But Spring has sprung! And so has the Madly Sweetly Spring line. I have tried on most of the range, and over the next month will be sharing some of my favourite pieces with you – including a live Facebook video from the Madly Sweetly studio this Saturday!
Today is the first day of fashion week for me, I’m off to see the Andrea Moore show this afternoon and I’m so looking forward to it! I will also get to see some of my lovely friends like Cait, from Chasing Cait Style Coach, and lots of people that I don't know who are insta famous! It’s so strange to see all the people you follow on Instagram in one room, sometimes you don't even recognise them, and other times you get chatting like you know them from somewhere (high School maybe?) and it turns out you just stalk them online – oops.
I know a lot about shopping, I have come to the terms with the fact that it is my super power and I shall use it for good! So here is the first of a series of posts spilling my little shopping secrets, the places you may not have looked for that something special for that special price!
Spring is coming which means a fresh round of fashion is arriving in stores! Here is a quick round up of the accessories I am LOVING right now!
Shopping can be tricky sometimes, so we often trust friends and family to tell us what looks great on us. But, we’re all different and like different things, so naturally our opinions don’t always align. Of course we all want to look great, but what’s more important is that you want to FEEL great in your clothes. Show others who you are on the inside, on the outside! Wear your personality!
I don't know about you, but for me, getting dressed isn’t always easy. I have been known to stand in the wardrobe for half an hour in my undies just staring at my clothes, waiting for inspiration to strike.
When it comes to packing for a trip, I’m even worse. Packing has been known to take me DAYS and then I usually don’t end up wearing any of it anyway.
BUT, since I started Dressing Up, I have developed a tried and true strategy – one of the wardrobe strategies I have written about in my ebook.
I am so so so excited, this weekend hubby and I are off to Melbourne for a few days and I cannot wait! I am not sure if I am most looking forward to the shopping or the sleeping. SO sleep deprived right now! Thanks kids ;)
The first thing on the agenda is going to see 'The Book of Mormon'. We are theatre buffs, James works in the theatre and that's how we met, so it will be the perfect thing for us to do on our first night there. There aren't a lot of shows we haven't seen, but this is one!
