The one piece in my wardrobe that I just couldn't style...

Everyone has that one piece in their wardrobe that they never wear. You get it out, you put it back....this skirt is that item for me. I bought the cute Country Road mini skirt below for $5 from the Country Road Buy and Sell Page on Facebook - bargain! But it has been sitting in my wardrobe ever since...staring at me, I dare you.

Nothing looked right. I tried a chambray shirt, every top I own, mixed print, a poncho yuuuuuuuck! I generally prefer to wear loose on the top if I'm wearing tight on the bottom, but nothing fit the bill. Then this awesome Betty Basics 'Rhode Long Sleeve Top' came into my life. The perfect loose basic top that goes with everything - great basics are so hard to find!

It has the slightest of batwing sleeves (perfect since I'm not a fan of big loose sleeves on me) and the soft roll neck top keeps me warm without being restricting at all. Available in sizes 8-16, I am wearing the size 14 (it's a loose fit) and now I have something to wear with my Country Road mini!

You can buy yours for $39.95 (AUD) from Birdnest here. Birdnest is one of my favourite online stores, they have so much variety and you can even shop by your lifestyle! Genius - and an excellent time-waster, there goes your Thursday night! If you are on the North Shore in Auckland, I bought mine from Divine Goddess in Birkenhead for $45. Go and see Caroline, she has lots of beautiful things to show you!

I added my new favourite blazer that I bought from my blogger friend Beth at This Is Jolie for $40 (Thanks Beth! Shout out to your awesome taste!) so this whole outfit was $90.

Check out my blog post from the other day if you are looking for new tights - these ones are boot tights - they have socks attached to them to keep your feet warm and to prevent you getting holes in the toes.

Until next time,

Be you - wear the jewels!
