Outfit Roundup October
Ummmm what happened to October this year? I swear it went September - November! I have had a busy couple of months styling the wardrobes of other fabulous Dressing Up women, and have forgotten to blog about my own!
So I thought we'd do a wee roundup of some of my favourite outfits of late. My style is always evolving which is what makes it so fun! I have been experimenting a bit with black and white and a pop of colour which is such an effective look and so easy to throw on.
Above left: Sequin bolero from Topshop (a million years ago), jumpsuit from Farmers, Kathryn Wilson shoes (past season).
Above right: ASOS Sequin tee (past season) Zara pearl collar (in store now), Travellers lengthener, Trenery jeans, Mi Piaci shoes (gifted).
This bird print dress from Gorman is the definition of wearing my personality! Bright, flippy and oh so fun, I just feel 'me' whenever I wear it. When you find a piece that just pops for you, you don't need to get too hung up on the cut. I wouldn't usually go for this neckline but it doesn't matter because I LOVE the dress!
Above left: Velvet dress from Max (a few months ago on sale), H&M shoes, Saben bag. Above right: Trelise Cooper jacket, Country Road Tee and wrap skirt, Mi Piaci shoes (gifted).
I have had a couple of fabulous dates with hubby over the last month, I poured myself into this velvet number from Max for a dinner out and felt fab in it! I actually turned this dress backwards so the V is at the front. I don't believe in tight uncomfortable shapewear, I often wear a firm fitting slip under my dresses, but here I went for high waisted smooth underwear and let the stretchy velvet do it's work! I didn't want to interrupt the lines of the dress so I kept my accessories minimal.
The pink and black outfit was a total throw together when james swooped in from work and announced my parents were having the children and we were going on a date (thank GOODNESS!) So I very quickly popped on a tee a high waisted skirt and jacket. I used black and white as a base and then added the bright pink necklace (and hair, naturally) to give it some interest.
There are some really cute accessories out and about at the moment, I have been wearing this floral bag strap on my Saben bag and I always get comments on it. I bought a few for Dressing Room knowing you'd all want one, you can get yours for just $29, email me for details (perfect Xmas present!)
