Bedroom Makeover Update - Part 3!

I am aware the completion of this room has been a LONG time coming, but my bedroom makeover is almost complete!

I am just waiting for the squab for the window seat to be covered (in navy velvet ohhhhh!) and the wallpaper to arrive for the band we are creating around the top of the room. That sounds super old fashioned I know, but trust me it’s going to be cool. I have my reservations, but fun design is all about taking risks! I’ll let you know how it goes…

The room has been painted, the new bedding from Foxtrot Home has arrived, the new chandelier is up and I have purchased most of the accessories.

Without spoiling the surprise, I want to show you a few things I have purchased for the room that I think look great.

This lamp was from Kmart, and I loved the ceramic base but was a little underwhelmed by the shade, so I used masking tape and silver spray paint to add silver stripes, and I love the way it turned out.

This adorable swan was also from Kmart, we call her Cordelia. I of course, gave her some bling and once the floating shelves are up, she will be holding beautiful flowers that will of course be themed to the room. She's sitting on my favourite interior design books by Sarah Richardson. Has anyone else seen her series Sarah 101? Her aesthetic is stunning!

The swan will go up on the floating shelves we got from Mitre 10, I love the profile on the edges and it matches the dado rail and the cove, keeping some traditional elements to match with the modern.

Getting the window seat was the best decision I could have made, it has totally transformed the room into a calming space with a reading nook! The picture above shows you kind of what I am going for, but I have had it custom made to fit the bay window, with drawers in it so we can store James' clothes (because he doesn't have enough space in the wardrobe...oops!) You’ll see the finished product in a couple of weeks!

Hang with me everyone…we’re nearly there!
